Good morning friends and family,
It has been a few months since my last update, so let me catch you up on what is going on in the Steely family! The house building continues....we are about 2 weeks from being done. All of the floors are in, lights are hung, paint is done. We are lacking the concrete for our porches & driveway, countertops, and the rest of our plumbing fixtures (toilets would be much appreciated :)) We are trying to close by June 18th, that way we can be in it before I have to leave to go to Dallas Market on the 22nd. But we have to close by June 30th to get the tax credit! We are so excited..we can't hardly stand it~it's so close, but yet this last stuff we can't do ourselves, so we are having to wait on people to do it, which is the hardest part!
Like I said earlier, I will leave to go to market (our 3, soon to be 4 companies have showrooms in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas) in Dallas June 22-28 and then I will come back for a few weeks and then go to Atlanta July 14-19. I only do this in Janurary and June/July then I work from Norman the rest of year. It is fun, but very exhausting. I get up around 6 and don't get back to the hotel room until usually 9-10 each night. Most of that time I am on my feet selling our product, so it wears me out! I am currently doing Accounts Receivable and have been a stand-in VP of sales for one of the companies, LIttle River, but when I come back from market, I will start their brand-new company, Flaunt. It will come out in Janurary 2011 and I am so excited for it to launch! It is women's travel accessories + candles, picture frames and much more! It is so cute and girly with bling and flowers, but classy at the same time :) Be looking for it!!!
Leith has been so busy at work and then he comes home every night and works his lil heart out on the house. He has done so much on it and has learned way more than he knew before. I think he has enjoyed it, but is ready for it to be over so we can relax! Speaking of relaxing....we did take the long weekend off and went down to Arbuckle Lake and spent 3 nights just to getaway and have fun. It's been almost a year since we've gotten away even if just for a weekend..because of the house, so this weekend we didn't hardly talk about the house..just spend quality time with eachother (and Jimmy and Jenny) and had a blast on the lake!
Also...last weekend, Addison turned 4! She had a great birthday and birthday party the next day full of cake, cookout, presents and tons of friends and family! We were supposed to have her party at Perfect Swing (family fun center), but due to the tornado the week before, we had to move it to Reaves park. So we just had a cookout under the big pavillion and they played on the park, with bubbles, and silly string and everyone had a great time!
Addi is growing up way too fast and loving every minute of it! The first thing she said on her birthday after screaming..."MOM, I'm 4 Years Old Now", was "Now I get to go to Pre-K!!" All she talks about is going to school and riding on the school bus (which she is NOT doing!). She also got to get rid of her carseat and move to a booster seat, which she can get in and out of by herself, buckle and all, which makes it so nice! She would much rather sit in it because she isn't so constricted, but it isn't too comfortable when she wants to sleep, which she does alot in the car (just like her mom!)
Well...I think I've rambled enough for today...check back with us soon!
Love,
Kristi

Hello all...
I know..I know...it's been too long since I wrote last and I am sorry! I will try to do better! Right now...we are working on the house alot..trying to get it done-we are getting close. We and I use that term loosely...mostly Leith and his dad and our brother in law-JImmy and his dad Jim have been doing the trim work. This week our cabinets are in, so they will start hanging them and finish the trim. The outside brick, stone and siding is done, so it is my job to pick up bricks this week and it's a good week to do it since it is supposed to be in the 80's almost all week!
Addison has started practicing for Wee-ball, which is Teeball but for 3 & 4 year olds. They have practice on Monday nights and her games will be on Tuesday nights starting on April 12th. She is so excited to play and extra excited because she gets to play on the same team as her bestfriend and cousin, Raylee! They had their first practice last week and again tomorrow and they have so much fun together...I think both of their favorite times were at the end of practice when they got snack!! Their team name is going to be the Noble Cubs (original I know) and their colors will be blue and gold! And don't think for a minute that I won't have a shirt on with Addi's mom on the back yelling my little heart out..yes..I will be "one of THOSE moms".
Addison is also going to compete in the Rose Rock Pageant this year, which is the last weekend in April. It will be formal wear again..so we are on the search for another dress. She has placed runner-up the last two years and last year she also won Miss Photogenic and Miss Hospitality. She doesn't really care what she wins, she just knows she gets to be with her friend, Emily and walk on the stage and get a cool basket at the end. I wouldn't ever imagine her being so outgoing and loving it like she does considering how shy she is most of the time, but she lights up every time we talk about it. I will let you know how it goes afterwards. If she wins, she will have to get a car and ride in the Annual Rose Rock Parade the first weekend in May.
As for me..I am busy with work and I am also starting an annual craft show at our church this year on May 8th. I am inviting vendors from all over with different companies to come and sell their product, so I am really excited about that. I am also getting a team together to walk the Relay for Life that will be May 21 from 7pm to 7am. It is to raise money for Cancer Awareness. So far my team consists of me, Leith, Mom, Lindsey, Jenny and we will get lots more people. We are supposed to raise $100 min a piece and we have to have someone walking on the track at all times for 12 hours. I am really excited about this since my Grandpa died from luekemia and Leith's cousin and Grandpa have both had cancer. It is a great cause and I know we will have a great time as well!
Well that is what is going on in our lives. Hope everyone is doing well!
Love you,
Kristi

The year Twenty Ten
Hello family and friends,
I hope everyone is having a great start to the new year! As I am typing I am in Atlanta, GA on a work trip where I am working at the Atlanta mart Center selling our product at the giftware and home decor show. Leith and Addison are at home in OK and Addison is actually with her MeeMaw and Papa since tonight is Thursday (Brett and Carla come and get her after work on Thursday and spend the evening with her until around 9:30 or so, then we go get her). She loves to spend time with them and it gives Leith and I a night to have date night (when we have the time or energy) :)
I hope to be posting pics or a video of our house and the process that we are making on it soon. I know some people have been asking for pics to see it, but I have been bad and haven't taken pics in about a month. As far as where we are on the house...it is roofed and has one of the doors on it, they made a mistake on our front doors, so those are being fixed and the garage door should be here next week. Once the doors are on it and it is "dried in", then we can get busy started on finishing the inside and also get it bricked (poor guy who has to brick in this weather..for those of you who don't know..it was 17 degrees in OK today and Sat..the low is 0 ) I would hate to have an outside job during the winter time!
Everything is going great with us and we are loving every minute of watching our little princess grow up! She is such a big girl and amazes us every day about what she knows and the words and phrases she uses (her favorite word is actually and she uses it right!). She is so excited about going to school next year...yes, she will be 4 in May and start Pre-K in August. I tell her all the time that I am going to cry when she goes to school because that means she is a big girl and not mommy's baby anymore and she always gets so serious and says..."Mom, don't be sad..I'll still be your baby". And she is sometimes...she loves to play like she is the baby and talk in a baby voice and crawl and go limp when you pick her up (not sure what that is about), but she also fake sleeps..which is hilarious and she is really good at it. We can pull up in the driveway and open her door and she looks fast asleep...so Leith will pick her up and take her in thinking she is asleep the whole time and then all the sudden we will see a smirk and she'll open her eyes and just laugh and laugh....she is TOO FUNNY!!!! I guess she got her cute personality and sense of humor from her mom :)
Well I hope that everything is going well in your life....keep in touch!
Love,
Kristi

2010 Resolution #3
On the first day of the new year, I decided that starting a blog would be one of my many new year resolutions. I always have good intentions of keeping one updated to keep family and friends up to date on what is going on in the lives of the Steelys, but up until now, just haven't made the time. Well I hope to stick to this one and update it every week or so to let you know what is going on in our lives.
Here is what is going on now....well right at this very moment I am laying on one couch while Jimmy is laying on the connecting couch asleep and Jenny is on the other couch asleep and Leith is in the recliner awake (I think) and Addi is on the ottoman fast asleep and has been since right after the ball dropped at midnight. The boys are going duck hunting in the morning (well actually an hour) so they decided after staying up so late for New Years that they might as well stay up and not sleep, so I told them I would stay up with them to keep them awake. Well as you can see...Jimmy didn't quite make it, but Leith is still going strong!
Now, here is what has been going on lately....Leith, me and Addison have been living with Jenny and Jimmy since June because we are currently in the process of building a house on our 10 acres that was given to us by my dad when we got married. We are so excited for it to be finished, but we are enjoying living with family and getting to spend QUALITY time together! Addison has her own room while Leith and I have a room upstairs that is crammed to the gills with our stuff! We have our stuff stored here and at my parents house and fixing to be at the in-laws house as well. We are hoping to be in our house by April or so (that is my goal at least) and once we are, we will have a big house warming party and everyone is invited!
Addison is such an amazing little girl and I know I am a little biased, but she really is one of the smartest little kids ever! She is the light of mine and her daddy's life and we are so blessed to have her. We enjoy spending time with her and watching her grow into a big girl. Her personality and sense of humor just crack us up and she is always got us laughing! She is so bright and cheerful and knows how to make us smile :) I can't believe she is already 3 1/2 already...these last few years have gone by so fast. She will start Pre-K next fall and I can't belive my baby will be going to school so soon! She is looking forward to going to school and already pretends that our car is a school bus and I am her teacher. Right now she stays with my mom everyday while Leith and I work and she loves spending time with her Grammy and Papa. Gram takes her to story time at the library at least once a week and she also takes Gymnastics every Tuesday morning. She had her first gymnastics program a couple of weeks ago and she did perfect! Her favorite thing to do are the un-even bars and might I say..she is very good at them too! We might have a little olympic gymnist on our hands!
Well I hope you have enjoyed my first of many blogs and I look forward to keeping in touch with you this next year. We are expecting BIG things to happen in our family and church and I am expecting BIG things to happen for you too! Please keep in touch and let us know how you and your family are doing. We love you all so much!!!!!!!!
